Zachary Cain Biederstadt

March 5, 2003 - January 19, 2023

Zachary Cain Biederstadt, age 19, of Hammond, passed away on January 19, 2023. Zach was preceded in death by his Great Grandma Bonnie Cross and is survived by his loving mother Katie Cross, Grandfather (Poppa) David Cross, father Chris Biederstadt, dear Aunt Melanie Pociask, Uncle Caleb Cross, and cousin Jack Pociask as well as many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish their memories of him and wish for more.

Zach was the first grandchild in his family and was doted on accordingly. As a child, he was charming and inexhaustible, as evidenced by the time he convinced his family to allow him endless maraschino cherries at the open bar at a family wedding and then spent hours running in circles around the dance floor. As a teen, his natural gentleness and calmness made him a magnet for animals who recognized innately that he could be trusted. Zach loved his mother beyond measure as well as the rest of his family, his friends, his dogs, and his video games. He was loyal, polite, and kind and, though he faced many obstacles, he was surrounded by the love and support of his family and had a bright future ahead of him. He was dearly loved, and will be deeply missed.

A private memorial service will be held with his family in the coming months.

just rememberd when we were in 3rd grade together and mrs.Walsh asked the class what the opposite of "smart" was and you said *r*tarded" and she had the audacity to get mad at you 💀 like what were you supposed to say to that question? it was a damn trap. miss you

I miss you every second of every day.

I remember coaching Zach during the pop warner days. He always had a smile on his face. I think he enjoyed getting the team in trouble just so everyone had to ran laps. He would smile and laugh as he passed the coaches. He played tough in games even when going against bigger kids.

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

We love you Zach. You will always be the first baby in our family. I’ll always remember you reading at our wedding and am thankful for the memories. Hope you are surrounded by peace, love and all the dogs. ❤️

This obituary is very nice and every bit true. Zach was a gentleman, was always friendly, pleasant, and polite to us and others whenever we were near him. We will always remember these qualities about him for sure. May he rest peacefully.
