William Robert Domonkos, known affectionately as Bill, passed away peacefully in his home in Valparaiso, IN, on February 22, 2024. He was 65 years young.
Bill was born on December 17, 1958, in Gary, IN to William and Patricia Domonkos. He graduated from Merrillville High School in 1977 and went on to work in the automotive industry for his entire career. He had an amazing work ethic and loved his job as Parts Manager at Castle Chrysler in Chesterton, IN. He spent over 20 years at Southlake Dodge in Merrillville, IN and another eight years at Tempe Dodge while living in Arizona. He made many friends along the way.
While Bill left us far too soon, his impact on all of us will last forever. He was a loving father and grandfather, with a kind smile and a great sense of humor. He loved to spend time with his children, Sara and Steve, and granddaughter Dana. They spent many summer days together, golfing and playing bags. In the winter months they would get together, watching football and hockey (and any other sport for that matter). Graciously, he just spent a week in Mexico with Steve and Sara in January, where he walked Sara down the aisle at her wedding.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Patricia. His memory will be forever held in the hearts of his surviving family: his daughter Sara (Nicholas) Zorick, his son Stephen (Carissa) Domonkos, granddaughter Dana Domonkos, his brother Richard (Anita) Domonkos, and sisters Marie (Michael) Levins and Laura (Robert) Martin.
A celebration of Bill’s life is being planned for a future date. Details will be communicated once arrangements have been finalized.
In lieu of flowers, condolences may be sent to Sara Zorick at 14 W 110 S, Valparaiso, IN 46385 or Stephen Domonkos, at 139 Lexington St, Valparaiso, IN 46385. Donations can also be made in his name to Riley Childrens Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

Though it’s difficult today to see beyond the sorrow,
may looking back in memory help comfort us tomorrow.
