Wenceslao Mendez Lallave, 90, of Chicago, Illinois, has passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. He lived a good life. Wenceslao was born in Moca, Puerto Rico. His father was Pascual Mendez, and his mother was Maria Lallave. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and married Victoriana (Dolores) Lorenzo Nieves before shipping out to the Korean War. Wenceslao returned home to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and fathered eight children. He remarried, after Dolores died, to Aurora and help to raise her four children. Wenceslao was fond of saying “bien very good, tato, yummy yummy in my tummy… He liked to dabble in the mystic arts, read and paint. He was very creative and liked his arts and crafts. He would often try to be amusing and quick witted and wanted to live to 100 years. Wenceslao was survived by his eight children: William, Carlos, Wanda, Benjamin, Mariano, Wenceslao, Rosalma, and Arthur; His wife Aurora and her three children Sonia, Margarita, and Alberto; plus a host of grand children, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. Wenceslao Mendez leaves behind a great legacy and he will be missed greatly.
