Toby Allan Oakley

Toby Allan Oakley, age 50, passed away January 16th, 2023 at home. He was born March 5th, 1972 in Hammond Indiana to Willie C Oakley and Kay L Oakley (Danforth). He attended Morton Senior High school. Toby was a naturally gifted mechanic, he loved anything to do with taking apart and fixing every and any thing he could. Fishing was also a hobby he enjoyed, as well as helping others if he was able to do so. He was an avid Chicago Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks fan. He loved his old rock ‘n’ roll and heavy metal.
Toby is proceeded in death by both parents Willie and Kay Oakley, grandparents Leo and Viola Danforth, aunt and uncle Alice and Richard Leser, sister Tina L. Oakley, cousin Penni Settles, nephew Chey Oakley, and niece Alisha Sufak.
Toby is survived by his sister Carla M. Egarton, brothers Nick and Tom Oakley, nephews Brandon Ruiz, Cory Sufak, Marcus, Leo and Oliver Clark, nieces Marne and Marcella Egarton, Haleigh Oakley, along with a few good friends.
Toby’s cremations will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn next to his mother Kay Oakley, per her wishes, at a later date. A celebration of life will follow. He is loved by many and will be greatly missed.

We were so sad to learn about Toby passing away. He was a great guy. He visited us at our locally owned auto parts store often. We always had a hot cup of black coffee waiting for Toby when he came in. He was always one to go along with any jokes by saying "Wow, Wow, whats that about!" Our dog loved him and he would often tease him while wiggling his fingers saying "Here Milo, do you want some Toby sausages?" He will be greatly missed. He really did know his craft of fixing anything mechanical as long as you left him to himself to get it done, you were not allowed to watch!
