Susan Ann Phillips Richards

August 9, 1963 - January 16, 2024

She leaves behind husband, Hugh Jay Richards; mother, Arlene Phillips; Nicole (Ray) Buikema; five grandchildren, Cameron, Daniel, Маdison, Ray, and Mia Buikema; brother, Edward (JoAnn) Phillips; sister, Gail Brumley; loving dog, Dexter; many loving nieces and nephews.

Sue is preceded in death by her father, Edward Howard Phillips; daughter, Kari Jo Scott; granddaughter, Alexandrea Scott; brother-in-law, Rick Brumley.

Sue graduated from Merrillville High School in 1981 and worked for many years. She loved her family and had a close bond with her dad and mom. She loved spending time camping with them and her family. She loved the outdoors, ice fishing, and living on the farm. Sue liked cooking and exchanging recipes. She also enjoyed antiquing.

She was very determined and fought courageously to be healthy. She will be missed by those who loved her and remembered always.

My condolences to Sues family. She was such a sweet person and I’m sure leaves a big hole in everyone heart.

My heart is just broken! My childhood friend, my friend my whole life really! I’m so incredibly sorry for the loss for this family. You will be missed my dear friend. Until we meet again.

My thoughts and prayers are with Jay and Sue's family. I have known Sue and her family for a very long time and words cannot express the sadness. Rest in Peace Sue.

Jay and family, I am sending prayers that you are able to remember all the good times with Sue and know that she will always be with you in your heart and great memories. Susie was such a beautiful person inside and out. We had many laughs together and she will be missed dearly by all. Rest in Peace Susie with your loved ones on the other side.

So very sorry for loss of Sue. Enjoyed working with her and gatherings that George and I attended that Sue and Jay were also attending. May the family know that she loved you all very much! Rest In Peace Sue.
