Sharon Ray (nee: Medley), age 77, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Sharon is survived by her children: Tracy Szczudlak, Scott Bruce, and Amy (Jim) Harris; grandchildren: Ashley (Eli) Lewandowski, Billy Szczudlak, Tyler Harris, Josh Ray (Mac), Kylie Bruce, and Makenzee Ray; great-grandchildren: Murphy and Arlo Lewandowski.

Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Jeff Ray; father Bill Medley; mother, Edna Medley; grandparents, Albert and Lucy Medley; granddaughter, Mackenna Ray.

Sharon was a graduate of Gavit High School. Throughout her life she was very involved in PTA as well as her children’s sporting events. She worked as a caregiver to the same family for sixteen years. Sharon enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, loved coupons, list books, and re-sale shopping. In her later years, she loved court shows, word search puzzles, coloring and playing games with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her family will be planning a celebration of life in her honor at a later date.
