Ronald William Doran

August 23, 1945 - April 12, 2024

Ronald William Doran, age 78, of Michigan City passed away April 12, 2024. He was born August 23, 1945 in Michigan City, IN to Norman C. and Anne L (Knoll) Doran who proceeded him in death. On June 15,1968 he married Alice Dean in Michigan City, IN. Ron graduated from Elston High School in 1964 and was a Red Devil Fan his whole life.

He was survived by his loving wife Alice Doran; his daughters Brenda and his special son-in-law Donnie Heider of La porte and Debra Bush of Rolling Prairie; His six grandchildren Kyle (Jordyn) and Breanne Heider of La Porte; Casey, Cody, Colby Bush and Dakota Lindsley of Rolling Prairie, his four great grandkids Aubrey and Josie Heider and Kinzley and Waylyn Bush; his three sisters Shirley Bushong, Jean Doran and Betty Doran of Michigan City; he was proceeded in death by his son-in-law Ray Bush Jr.: his brother-in-law Art Bushong and two brothers Norman Doran and Jim Doran.

Ron was a I. B.E.W 531 Union Member for over 50+ years. He was a electrician for over 40 years and the electrical inspector in Michigan City for 10 years before he retired. He was a loving husband, father, and especially loving grandfather and he loved his dog Tazz. He also was a avid White Sox’s fan, NASCAR fan especially a Kyle Busch fan and a KC chiefs fan. He loved his Sunday side bets with his wife and grandson.

Cremation has already taken place and we will do a celebration of life at a later date for family and friend’s per Ron’s wishes.

I will miss Ron very much. It is hard for me to think of just one fond memory. I am thinking about bowling parties, Company picnics and bus trips to Chicago. Always up for a good time and full of life with a wry sense of humor- Truly one of a kind, he will be sorely missed.
