Richard Davison

Richard Davison, age 79 of Chesterton IN passed away on May 28, 2026.

He was born on November 27, 1946 to John W Davison and Lucille Davison in Gary, IN.  Both parents have preceded him in death.  He married Susan Mistretta in 1998, and soon after they set sail for a 5-year adventure sailing down the East Coast to the Caribbean islands around the Region. She has also preceded him in death.

Survived by Brother: William Davison, Son: Randy Davison (Amy), Daughter: Lora Davison, Grandson: Zachary Foster (Autumn), Step Daughter: Rebecca Conrad, and Step Granddaughter: Katelyn Mistretta, Niece: Amber Davison, Nephew: Adam Davison and many cousins.

He was also preceded in Death by:  Step-Son, Anthony Mistretta.

Richard was a 1965 graduate of Portage High School.  He retired from Bethlehem Burns Harbor plant after 34+ years for service.  Rich was an active member of the Issac Walton for over 30 years.  Richard was an avid diver and fisherman. He studied and received his Captains Licenses.  His entrepreneurial spirt was shown over the years as he operated a Charter Fishing Boat and Yatch Transport Company.

Any memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Rich’s 20-year battle with cancer.  The Family held a private memorial on June 1^st in honor of Richard.
