Patricia “Pat” Charlene Niemin (nee: Mcaley) passed away on February 20, 2022 at the age of 69. She lost her fight at Community hospital in Munster, In. She was surrounded by her daughters and granddaughters. She was the last surviving sibling of her family. Pat was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.
Pat was well known for her writing and her sense of humor. Her way with the written word was up to par with the greatest novelists, although never published. She was always there to give advice or encouragement, but she was also very straight forward. Pat would give a stranger the shirt off her back if it meant making them happy, and found joy in buying well thought out gifts for people. She was a confidant and secret keeper. She was like a vault that could never be broken. She takes the secrets of many to her grave.
She will be dearly missed by all who she knew, as she touched the lives of so many. Pat requested that no funeral services be held, rather she requested a small family lunch and for her family to remain together in her absence. This request will be honored.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis “Mack” J. McAley and Charlotte Lucille Maertin. Her siblings, Joseph McAley, Daniel Mcaley, and her partner in crime, Winifred J. Divis. Her husband, Ralph Walter Niemin, who was the absolute love of her life.
Survived by her children, Patricia (David) Miller, Clark J Emmart Jr., Christopher W. Niemin, and Michelle (Josh) Rickabaugh. Her Grandchildren, Nicole (Michael) Ramsey, Heather V. Miller, Emilia G. Rickabaugh and great-grandson, Connor D. Miller. All of whom will miss her dearly and know she will be watching over them all the rest of their days.
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3
