Oscar Terrell Hunter was born on July 21, 1973, to Lewis and Catherine Hunter in Maywood, IL.
He entered into a relationship with Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of Rev. Harry McNulty at First Baptist Church in Melrose Park, IL.
Oscar attended Washington Elementary School and Fields Lab High School. He worked as a mechanic, pool installer, and later at Walmart.
He was joined in holy matrimony with Christina Mosqueda on July 21, 2016. Together they welcomed four children.
Oscar—affectionately called Terrell or Trey by his family and friends—had a kind and caring nature and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had a God-given gift for fixing and repairing things—mainly cars, trucks, and houses, just to name a few. He was a talented mechanic who had a deep love for cars and enjoyed teaching his son, Terrell Jr., the trade, which led his son to follow in his father’s footsteps.
Anyone who knew Oscar (Terrell) knows he was a jokester who loved to laugh, crack jokes and share good times with family and friends. He was an all-around awesome guy who will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
Oscar departed this life on Friday, October 17, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Hunter, and his grandparents, Walter and Alice Minor, Harden and Helen Hunter.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Christina Hunter; his five children, Sherrell Hunter of Dallas, Texas; Ayshia Hunter, Terrell Hunter, Theresa Hunter, and Avery Hunter of Mishawaka, IN; his loving mother, Catherine Hunter; two sisters, Terri (Corey) Bright of Maywood, IL, and Allison (Anthony) Abrams of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Rylan Balog and Elias Moreno; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends.
