Kevin Scott Napier

September 26, 1975 - November 21, 2020

On Saturday, November 21, 2020, Kevin Scott Napier, loving husband and father of 3 boys, passed away at the young age of 45. He was born on September 26th 1975 in Valparaiso, In.

The son of John and Lynda Napier of Portage, In. He graduated in 1994 from Portage High School. He spent most of his teenage years working on cars and sound systems or playing his guitar. He was a lover of all animals and would help anybody if he could. On September 17, 2010 he married his red headed girl Heidi Durkin. Together they have raised 3 wonderful sons. Riley, Dominic and Owen. He has worked at the IU Northwest campus, Symphony, and The Portage School System. In his spare time he loved to draw up ideas for tattoos and play with his kids. He had an amazing spirit and heart and was loved by all.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Heidi, sons: Riley, Dominic and Owen; Mom, Lynda Vaught Napier; Step-mom, Laurie Rohan Younge (Chris); Brothers:; James Napier, Dr. Jeremy Sturgell ( Mandy) and Michael Sturgell; Sisters: Krista Napier, Lacie Howell (Allen) and Mckenna Sturgell; Sister of the heart, Tiffany Miller; Brothers from another mother: Robbie Maynard, BobbyLee Gordon, Brian Essary, Scott Tracy and Lawrence Adair; “Grandpa”, James H. Napier; Many Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kevin is preceded in death by his dad John Napier and birth father Lowell Sturgell.

Memorial will be tentatively on June 5th.

I just learned of Kevin's passing and am so saddened, I met Kevin while he worked at IUN, always so pleasant. He provided service to my office everyday and we were always talking about something. He loved to talk about his son, at that time he only had one and then shared news of his other boys, he was so excited when he told me about their arrival. Kevin also loved talking about his work on his truck and other vehicles. He was always talking about his life and family. You are all in my Prayers and I ask God to grant you peace and fond memories.
