JOSEPH WASHINGTON PENDER II

Joseph (Joe) Washington Pender II, 73, of Michigan City, Indiana was called home on Thursday, December 17, 2020. Joe was born on May 26, 1947 in Michigan City, Indiana to Joseph and Lillie Pender who both preceded him in death.
Joe attended Elston High School and later worked as a welder at Acro Metal for over Twenty years. He also worked as welder for Paltier and a Tool Shop Manager at Sager Metal.
Joe had a great love for cars and fashion. In his spare time, he bought, sold and upgraded cars. In addition, he started the well-known car club “Pender Posse.” The Pender Posse would show up for many parades to put their hard work on display.
His eldest son, Shaun Gordon Pender preceded him in death.
His children, Sidney Allen Pender, Damien Robert Pender, Scott Pender Banks and Nicole Pender (Cochran,) Michigan City, IN; Joseph Bryant and Christopher Aaron Pender, Los Angeles, California survive
him. Along with a host of grand and great-grandchildren, family and friends.
Due to Covid, a Memorial celebration will be held at later date.

Joe Pender was my and my twin sister's biological father with whom I first met when I was 35 years old. Our relationship was strained by the nature of our conception. I have brothers and a sister that obviously don't except my sister and I as siblings giving the fact that no one reached out to neither one of us to let us know of his passing. God has a plan and I trust that plan and mistakes are only our doing. My father has called my mother home and now he's called on my dad. Rest well Joe.
