Douglas L. Wilson passed away on November 27, 2023 at the age of 78. He is survived by his loving daughters Kimberly & Terri Lynn (Michael) Wilhite, and a son Douglas (Brandy and their children). He is also survived by his three sisters Elizabeth (Jerry) Huber, Georgene (Lou to family) and Margie (Frank Cooley). He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen (nee Segers) and parents, Harry and Marge. Doug was a proud Army Vietnam Veteran active in his local American Legion. He especially liked attending Legion dinners, picnics, and most especially, bingo. A railroad retiree, he vastly enjoyed his 30+ year career that included many promotions and relocations in the Midwest and Northeastern regions of the US. He loved to tell stories and share memories and experiences of his career and day to day life with family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to American Legion Post 260, 5675 Mulberry Avenue, Portage, IN 46368. A brief memorial service celebrating Doug will take place on Friday December 15, 2023 at 1:30 PM CST at his final place of rest, the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421.
