Dennis E. Cummings

March 25, 1955 - November 20, 2025

Dennis E. Cummings, 70, a resident of Portage, IN, formerly of Chicago, passed away at home. He was the son of John (Ret. CPD Sgt.) and Bernice (nee Sarkauskas) Cummings.

Dennis was a fantastic and well known guitarist who played all over the mid west, particularly in Beatles cover bands, Music was his passion and obsession since childhood.

He is the beloved brother of Kathleen (William) Lavelle, dear uncle of Erin (Jason) McNeill and Bridget Lavelle. Other dear relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation and burial will be private. In his memory please give a listen to The Beatles song In My Life.

Dear Cousin Dennis, I hate that my family moved away when I was little and didn't get to visit with you very much but please know that you are loved by my family and you will be missed. I can still remember when I was 8 or so and when I saw you I kept thinking you looked so much like John Lennon.
