David K Rahn passed away peacefully on 2/12/23 after a two year battle with stage 4 throat cancer. Dave was born on 4/12/1950 to Felix and Vera (Basetich)

Rahn. He is survived by his loving sister Patricia Mings (the late Walter) and brothers Ken (the late Susan)and Rick (Eva). As the oldest of 3 brothers, Dave blazed his own trail. He will be remembered for all of his free spirited adventures, stories, and generous heart. Dave was a survivor and would push forward no matter what the situation. He always faced life with a glimmer of hope. Dave is further survived by his loving Aunt Doll Basetich, nieces and nephews; Sue Mings (Phileo), Sandra Lamar (James), Steven Mings (Michelle), Marty Rahn and Rachel Rahn,

as well as by numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews. A special thank you to dear cousin Mike Boone and friend Alvin for all of their love, care and concern for Dave through the years.

A memorial service and celebration of life for Dave will be Saturday July 8th, 2023 at 10 am at St Ann Church in Channahon, IL 60410, with a luncheon afterwards.

Happy memories of good times with my Cousin Dave and his family

He was a special man who I loved with all my heart. He taught me so much through his poetry and music. He adored his mother and truly had the most beautiful heart. He would give anyone the shirt off his back. A truly beautiful man. I hope too see you again God rest your soul. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I remember David as a happy guy who was nice to anyone with whom he came in contact. My empathy goes out to his entire family.

Uncle Dave, family gatherings will never be the same without you ... You are sorely missed, and will continue to be. Tho in some sense you remain with us, because of all the memories and stories we'll continue to share, of your life well lived. Please say hello to all our dearly departed, including the doggies -- give Mr. Sue and Dr. Pepper a cookie from your friends down here. I look forward to seeing you all again on the Other Side, and hearing all the NEW Uncle Dave stories: Your escapades in heaven. I'm sure there will be some! I love you and miss you. Thank you for being my "brother/uncle," and mom's oldest brother. You were a wonderful brother to her, "bruncle" to me, and friend to all.
