Aileen Bergauff

August 21, 1927 – February 11, 2025

Aileen Bergauff, age 97, of Valparaiso, IN passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025. She was born in Montpelier, OH and grew up in Gary, IN.  Aileen lived in the same house in Hobart for 67 years then spent her last years at Valparaiso Senior Village.

Aileen is survived by her son, Larry (Della) of Valparaiso and daughter, Barbara (Marshall) Elder of Duluth, MN.  She also leaves behind grandchildren, Jacob (Sandy), Joshua (Joleen) and Joseph (Jackie) Elder all of Duluth, MN, Megan (Todd Metcalfe) of Downingtown, PA and Rachel (Adam) Cook of Morton, IL; 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great granddaughters. Aileen is also survived by brothers, Ralph (Jackie) and Paul (Kathy) McFann; sister-in-law, Ellen McFann; former sister-in-law, Pat McFann; and many nieces and nephews.

Aileen was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Pearl McFann; her husband of 52 years, Fred Bergauff; brothers, Harold Jr, James, Howard and Charles McFann.

Aileen enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  She was a bookkeeper at various companies for many years.  Aileen was a talented quilter and knitter providing family and friends with many quilts and afghans.  She was also an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge and gardening.

A celebration of Aileen’s life will be held on February 23rd in Valparaiso.
