William H. McMullin

William H. McMullin (Billy), age 61, longtime resident of Cedar Lake, IN, and formerly of Canaryville, IL, passed away surrounded by his loving family, on September 3, 2026, after courageously battling a lung infection for months.

He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed by his children, Stephanie (Bruce) Kimbrell, Jennifer (Jeremy O’Brien) McMullin, Justin (Megan) McMullin, and Ronald McMullin; his grandchildren Preston, Tristan, Kayden, Evelyn, Laila, Finley, Ada, Levi, and Georgie; his dear brothers and sister; as well as his nephews and nieces, cousins, friends both old and new, and the many people he came to know throughout his daily life. He was preceded in death and will now be reunited with his parents Francis (Moon) and Norine (Mimi) McMullin; his dear sisters Mary Pop and Jennifer McMullin; and his nephew Michael McMullin.

He will be remembered for his incessant dad jokes, his affinity for and incredible knowledge of all things history (especially wars), his masterful carpentry skills (having built and worked on several local homes), his ramblings on his life’s work and research (if you know, you know), and his love for and pride for his wonderful children and grandchildren.

The family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
