Joseph “Joe” Nicholas Gunderson Jr., 36, passed away on August 10, 2025.
Joe was equal parts big heart and trouble—famous for cracking jokes, stirring the pot just enough to make things fun, and showing up for his people.

He loved time with family and friends most of all, collecting stories, inside jokes, and a circle of folks who knew they could count on him.

Joe is survived by his sister, Nicole Gunderson (Nick Spiros); his brothers, Jake Gunderson; Jason Gunderson (Amy) his children, Triston Newman and Savannah Gunderson; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Nephews Jason, Matthew, Jack and Caleb. He is preceded in death by his son, Vincent; his father, Joseph; his mother, Terrie; and his sister, Ashlee.

In Joe’s honor, tell a good story, laugh too loud, and make a little mischief with someone you love.

I guess it's ironic, when a random text sent read, " I thought you should know, joe gunderson passed" the actual words that I heard was, "I HOPE YOU BLOW UP!!!" and I want you to know, I never took it personally, not even when I was deployed, and accumulated 20 combat ops, hell I told my team and we laughed our ass off. I love you brother. I hope you found peace.
