October 5, 1986-June 13, 2024
James Albert “Big Al” Bruce IV , age 37, formerly from Michigan City, Indiana passed away Thursday June 13, 2024. Jimmy was a Vac Truck operator, as well as a concrete statue finisher prior to obtaining his CDL license. He worked for many years at Saylor Basket Place in Porter, Indiana. The business is owned by his grandparents and he worked very closely with them both for many years. Jimmy really tried to enjoy his life, and his family. Jimmy was a proud father to his son Airman Dominic James Bruce. Jimmy spent many hours helping his parents with projects. Jimmy would help his mother decorate for the holidays, and most people know what a job that was. Jimmy had always tried to help others when he could, whether it was working on a car, a house, clearing woods, fixing things, and anything else he could if he was able to. Jimmy had very fond memories of fishing with his grandparents Edward and Judy Wilson, and going for yogurt ice cream. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his son. His other loves were his two dogs “Buddy” and “Mama”, who both preceded him in death. He was truly an animal lover, and his dogs meant a lot to him. Preceded in death by his grandfather Edward L. Wilson, his grandmother Shirley (Polston) Steen, and his grandmother Lucille Bruce, and his Uncle Robert Baker, He is survived by his son Airman Dominic James Bruce, his parents James and Barbara Bruce, his grandmother Judy Wilson, his grandfather Jim (Sue) Steen, his grandfather Jimbo Bruce, his Aunt Wanda (Jerome) Nowaczyk, His Aunt Jennifer Baize, his Aunt Samantha (Marshall) Ennis, his aunt Cheryl (Rod) Allen, his uncle Donald Baker, his Uncle Jon (Mary) Bruce, His Uncle Charles (Stephanie) Bruce, His Aunt Erin (Carey) Kirk and his Uncle Scott Bruce. He is also survived by many loving cousins, and family and friends. He will be missed by so many.
