Gail Lynn Burdett, 82, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, in Northwest Health-Porter Hospital in Valparaiso, IN, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on June 28th, 1942 in Gary, IN, to (late) Daniel James, Sr., and (late) Alice (Souply) Rogers, the youngest of four children. She graduated from Wirth HS in 1960, and worked at Gary National Bank. Lynn married Joseph Romer in 1962 in Gary, IN, and moved to Chicago, IL., where she received her Diploma from Cosmetology School, and they owned their business, Joseph’s Studio of Styling. She raised three children, and buried her first husband in 1982. Later, she met and married Harry L. Burdett, Jr. in 1992, and enjoyed watching their blended family of children marry, and start families of their own. She eventually retired from First Midwest Physicians in Orland Park, IL in 2002. She and Harry enjoyed years of traveling and beautiful vacations together. Other interests included her love for her dogs, as well as all animals, spending and creating beautiful outdoor gardens, and being surrounded by loved ones. She was always there for her family and helped them any way she could. Lynn is preceded in death by her second husband, Harry L. Burdett, just one day prior, on September 19th, 2024, her stepson, David Burdett in 2009 as well as her brother, Daniel James Jr. in 2005. Lynn is survived by her sister, Marge Rogers, her children, Trina Romer-Burdett, Lisa (Tom) Markacek, Tony (Ryan) Romer, her stepchildren, Michael Burdett Sr. and Janet Coughlan, as well as her grandchildren, Michael (Lana) Burdett, Heather (Rich) Burdett, Joseph (Jenny) Burdett, Kristina (Jake) Burdett, Nikolas Burdett, Jonathan Gehrman, Brendan Coughlan, Matthew Burdett, Christopher (Brooke) Burdett, David Burdett, nine great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
